How our journey began…
MM Myers has been a storyteller for as long as her family can remember. Whether gathered around the dinner table, spending time with friends, or talking on the phone with her mother and aunts, she had a gift for bringing people together through stories. As her children and grandchildren grew older, they encouraged her to write those stories down so they could be shared with others.
For years, she captured story ideas in journals and later shared many of them through Facebook posts, where readers repeatedly told her they belonged in books. Then life took an unexpected turn. The same year she was diagnosed with a condition that would eventually take her vision, her grandson William once again urged her to write her stories down. Having already lost many of the cherished stories from her grandmothers and aunts, MM realized she couldn't wait any longer. If she was going to preserve the stories God had placed on her heart, it had to be now.
What began as a simple plan to self-publish quickly became a much bigger journey. After months of navigating the publishing world, MM asked her husband, Wes, for help. Together they discovered that many publishing companies were more interested in changing her stories than preserving their heart and faith-filled message. Rather than compromise, MM and Wes founded Firestorm Publishing LLC, creating a company dedicated to publishing authentic stories that stay true to the author's voice and values.
Today, Firestorm Publishing is a true family endeavor. Their grandson William is writing the second book in The Grand Adventures series and contributes many of the illustrations. Their granddaughter Faith has been instrumental in ensuring each story remains true to its original heart. Every grandchild has played a role—from illustrations and design to coloring pages, assembling book sets, packing orders, and even attending book signings. What often becomes a family assembly line during the holidays is also a reminder that these books are the product of love, faith, and generations working together.
MM and Wes consider Firestorm Publishing more than a business; it is a ministry and a legacy. Together they are committed to preserving family stories, encouraging faith, and inspiring readers of all ages, proving that even life's greatest challenges can become the beginning of something extraordinary.
